The Final Chapter

Starry Night was listed by our broker in Yacht World in mid-May, and after three months, we accepted an offer. The survey process was completed and final acceptance by the buyer was received in mid-September with closing scheduled for the last week of September. During the months of showings by our broker, Steve and I had taken alternating trips back and forth from Satellite Beach to Charleston to remove our personal items and ensure Starry Night was ship-shape, but we returned together one last time to say our final goodbyes.  I was much more emotional than either Steve or I expected me to be, but I suppose we shouldn't have been surprised. Change is always hard, and this is a big one. We remain, nevertheless, convinced that this is the right decision at the right time. As fate would have it, closing was delayed by a week and in the interim a storm was brewing in the Atlantic.
